Dr. James Austin Gordon M.D. (1874 - 1940)

Dr. James Austin GORDON M.D. (1874 - 1940) Son of James Madison GORDON and Jane BYARS. Born February 5, 1874 near Memphis, Missouri. Died May 8, 1940 in Great Falls, Montana. Married first on May 1, 1895 in Memphis, Missouri to Lena MCDONALD. She died in 1905 in Silver City, New Mexico. Married second on November 14, 1906 in Havre, Montana to Nellie ELGE. {For more information on the ELG family back to 1620 and who moved from Finland to Safsnas, Sweden before immigrating to the U.S., please see the Lennart Elg's homepage]. He was a dental surgeon living in Helena, Montana for many years, then lived in Great Falls, Montana until his death. They divorced in the late 1920s. Nellie Gnella ELGE remarried to a GREENE before her death in Los Angeles, CA on December 30, 1951.

James Austin Gordon attended North-East Missouri Business College in Memphis MO in the inaugural class in the fall and winter of 1891 - 1892. He received his medical doctorate on June 2, 1896 at University of Missouri at Kansas City.
